2025 TEAM SHELBY NO LICENSE - NO RACE TOUR
Thursday, July 31 to Saturday, August 2nd

Join Team Shelby to celebrate Carroll Shelby at the historic Road America on July 31st - Aug. 2nd, 2025! This exciting motorsports event is designed to connect the Shelby legend with the present by including sports car racing!

When Carroll Shelby headed to Road America in 1952 to compete on the street course in a Jaguar XK120, he had no SCCA competition license. The race officials said, "no license, no race." So, there was an agreement made that Carroll could compete in the main event if he performed satisfactorily in a practice race.

In typical Shelby style, Carroll proved his mettle and earned the right to drive in the big show. Shelby returned in 1956 when Road America shifted to a new track, winning the race by a large margin.

Team Shelby Great Lakes Region has planned a weekend filled with motorsports, cool cars and good friends to celebrate Carroll's tenacity.

Your $150 registration includes:

  • Goodie bag
  • Event t-shirt
  • Thursday night welcome reception attendance
  • Participation in the car cruise, driving the original street course and through the Kettle Moraine region of Wisconsin
  • Automobile Gallery museum tour
  • Saturday night banquet at Best Western Bridgewater Resort attendance

Optional activities include:

  • Lunch at the 1919 Kitchen and Tap (pay as you go)
  • Fish Fry inside Batley's Bar & Grill diner (pay as you go)
  • IMSA sports car weekend attendance; race and parade lap tickets available at the Road America website https://www.roadamerica.com/sportscar-weekend-imsa

In Carroll Shelby tradition, a portion of proceeds will benefit the non-profit Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA).
