Shelby American Vintage White Team Jacket

The Shelby American
Official 1965 World Championship Team Jacket

Carroll Shelby was a trailblazer both on and off of the track during the 1960's golden age of sports car racing. His Shelby American team captured hearts and won championships worldwide with the ferocious Cobra, Daytona Coupe, G.T.350 and the mighty Ford GT40.

It was important to him that the men and women of Shelby American also looked like the champions along the way. The most admired garment was the Wimbledon White 1965 World Championship Jacket. They were first given to team members for the Daytona race that year. the unique diamond shaped quilting, blue stripes and startling white color became legendary in racing circles as no other team has such a stunning jacket.

The jackets became symbolic of that season's success as Shelby American beat European powerhouses Ferrari, Aston Martin and Jaguar. Shelby American team members were photographed wearing the coats at almost every race that year, from Le Mans to Riverside, and they were immortalized when on July 4, 1965, Shelby won American's only FIA Sports Car World Championship.

The jackets were prized by each team member who received one and are highly collectible today.

The Shelby American World Championship continuation jackets are a tribute to the team that was created after extensive research by Jim Marietta, Founder of the Original Venice Crew and part of the 1965 Shelby team, to meet every detail of the original. The research and construction of this jacket took over a year of study, work, testing and exacting production samples. As the jacket demonstrates, it was painstakingly recreated to look and feel like the original.

  • The jacket's unique quilter nylon outer shell uses a material that was located after an extensive search to match the original's look and feel. The unique diamond shaped quilting is legendary in racing circles as no other team had such a stunning piece. The material was specially selected to mimic the " puff" styling of the original garment and the jacket was put through and extensive process of washing and softening to feel as buttery as the 1965 version.
  • Guardsman blue inner liner has the original style mesh centered in the lining.
  • Just like the original jackets, they have a nylon hood hidden under the collar.
  • Zippers are from the original supplier for the 1965 team jacket with the zipper tape dyed the same specific blue as the original for enhanced detail.
  • The half elastic mesh and nylon cuffs are the exact color of the jacket sleeve for a seamless match.
  • Sleeve stripes are placed and uniquely folded to match the original in shape and color.
  • The jacket is adorned with authentic Ford and Shelby American patches made to the original specification with 100% cotton twill.
  • The jacket is proudly made for Shelby in the United States, just as it was in 1965.
Picture yourself in the official Shelby jacket standing next to Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Bob Bondurant, Dan Gurney. Phil Remington and the others on the team. You will fee like a World Champion every time you put it on.
